Louie Gohmert calls for RICO probe to find out who's paying for Honduras migrant caravan
American Thinker ^ | October 23, 2018 | Monica Showalter

Who's financing the Honduras migrant caravan of illegal immigrants, with as many as 10,000 snaking their way into illegally entering the U.S.?

Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas has a sensible suggestion for finding out: using the RICO statutes. According to the Washington Examiner, citing Fox News, Gohmert said:

We have got to have the DOJ investigate where the funding is coming from to send these thousands and thousands of people to the U.S. ... You can use RICO to go after them.

The question, which the incurious media show no sign of wanting to answer, is worth asking, given the expense the taxpayers will be saddled with as thousands of them openly climb over border fences, dare border officials to fire on them to stop them, worm their way in through asylum legal maneuvering, or put up big sob stories with photos of mothers and crying children as a means to get in and get the benefit packages. It's a certainty that quite a few will get in, unless President Trump can be genuinely effective at stopping them, and right now that's not a certainty.

Meh, that’s nice Louie, but but the DOJ is in the Executive branch. Unless the AG starts this investigation, or the President replaces the AG with one who will investigate, it will never happen.

Or...

We tell them that they will not be able to find work in the US

The moment they step on US soil they will be loaded into a US military plane and be flown back to Honduras and off loaded at a military air base that is under the control of the 82nd Airborne.

They will not be able to enroll their children in any US school.

They will not be permitted to have a child in a US hospital, thereby giving birth to a US citizen.

The individuals that are identified as leaders of the invasion will be taken into custody of the NDAA and held until they are brought to trial.

Recall all diplomatic staff from the US embassy in Honduras and close it and any consulates.

Kick out all Honduran diplomats from the USA and shutter their embassy and all consulates.

Tell Bangladesh the same and to prepare for repatriation of any Bangladeshi found in the invasion.

That’s something the President could do this week and not have to worry about passing any laws.

I'm no lawyer, but if all this is possible, then I'm for it. However, even Trump keeps saying "the way the laws are now, once they set foot in our country we have to take them in & process them". And we don't have the room to hold them for years until they "show up" for their immigration hearing.

I heard on the radio today we have a 500,000 backlog in asylum hearings.

I am so happy that we have Rip Van Sessions already on top of it! Not many losses under MAGA in the Trump era but this is a big LOSE. The Wall mantra is wearing thin. The fact that we are about to be invaded by American flag burners calling us Nazis funded by the SOB Soros is bad enough.

A few well worded and timed tweets from the President should get this going. Something like....

I promised the American people I would put an end to this. Those in the caravan have stated that they are coming for jobs, not escaping violence. Most of the people are males in their late teens and older. I am asking the DOJ, FBI, DHS, and Intel agencies to investigate where the money is coming from to finance this invasion. Additionally, I plan on setting up a review of the various taxpayer funded, refugee charities and how/why the receive so much taxpayer money, while their leadership gets rich. Charities should get their money from private donations, not the US taxpayer. I plan on looking into this as soon as possible.

Something like that should get heads exploding.

“Is it illegal to finance and organize an 10,000 person invasion of the U.S.?”

I believe it is illegal if the invasion is to influence the outcome of an election — and that is the reason for the invasion. The investigation needs to start today and end within seven days. Clue: Start with Soros, Hillary, and Hussein.

Probably true on the backlog. And they’re painting the US into a corner.

We either stop them before they reach the border, which means an armed incursion into Mexico...not going to happen.

They put one toe over the border and they’re hear....going to happen.

However, if AG Sessions(I know), decides to send a bunch of immigration judges to the border and does emergency hearings, right then and there, put ‘em on a plane and fly them back, that day.

That would be nice. Something definitely has to be done & done quickly. If they are allowed in, the next invasion will be 100's of thousands. In the meantime, I'm hoping Hurricane Willa will help us out & solve the problem.

I’ve gleened some leads.

Part 1:
——How it Kicked Off ——

While most of the previous caravans involved Central Americans who were already in Mexico, the current one began in Honduras itself. It was first organized by local activists on social media. However, some TV stations reported on it, spreading the word to a much larger audience. Many on the caravan describe seeing the coverage on TV and deciding to immediately pack their bags and go. “People reacted to it because they are at breaking point,” said Orlin Castro, a TV reporter in the Honduran city of San Pedro Sula, who covered it. (tv)

The caravan left San Pedro Sula in northern Honduras more than a week ago, following a call on social networks relayed by a former Honduran deputy.
The politician, Bartolo Fuentes - a member of leftist former president Manuel Zelaya’s Freedom and Refoundation Party - told AFP he only reproduced a poster on his Facebook page.
The poster invited people on a ‘Migrant march’ with a slogan: ‘We’re not leaving because we want to, but because we are being expelled by violence and poverty.’

Irineo Mujica Director, Pueblo Sin Fronteras in Mexico, People without borders Caravan organizer - Mujica, who has dual U.S. and Mexican citizenship, attacked immigration agents and local and federal police after he was asked for his identification - one of the main organizers of last spring’s migrant caravan, claims he did not organize this one but was there for assistance - dual citizen from Pheonix - arrested Thursday in Ciudad Hidalgo, Mujica was released midday Saturday, Mensing said, and must post a 10,000 peso bond, equivalent to about $520. He has residences in both Phoenix and Sonoyta, Sonora, where he runs a migrant shelter across the border from Lukeville, Arizona. Most recently he had been living in Tijuana

Part 3:

——Celebrity ——

Members of the Kennedy family are teaming up with activists and celebrities to take a stand for the children separated from their parents,” boasted co-host Adrienne Bankert as she teed up the report....“With the coalition led by legendary human rights activist Delores Huerta and Kerry Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy’s daughter…” They were holding a 24-day hunger strike to show “solidarity” with the kids, despite the fact they were well-taken care of.

ABC, NBC Celebrate Anti-Trump Immigration Protests, Tout Celebs and Dems - liberal celebrities and politicians were able to make it out. “Demonstrators demanded legislatures act, Democrats from Congress stepped on stages across the country. Star power also front and center, including John Legend, Alicia Keys, and America Ferrera,” - Between Democratic efforts to proliferate sanctuary cities and the liberal media’s obvious effort to ignore illegal immigrants committing crimes, it clear to any honest observer the left embraces these caravans.

Part 4:

-—Soros -—— (Chemonics is under both players and soros)

Chemonics International, a private development firm that partnered with OSF justice projects in Albania and received a $37,390,000 grant from the U.S. Agency of International Development (USAID) for a Guatemalan youth and gender justice project. A Sorors-funded environmentalist group called Fundación Para El Ecodesarrollo y la Conservación (Foundation for Ecodevelopment and Conservation, FUNDAECO) got a $1 million USAID grant for a sustainable water management project in Guatemala and $156,000 from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for a rainforest protection project. Other U.S.-funded entities also supported by Soros in Guatemala include the human rights organization Comité de Desarrollo Campesino (Committee for Rural Development, CODECA), Asociación de Abodagos y Notarios Mayas, the Myrna Mack Foundation and Women’s International Network for Guatemalan Solutions (WINGS).

Foundation for National Progress, has received over $1 million from George Soros.” gives ‘immense funding’ to Mother Jones (ONN)

Oregon’s Democratic Governor Kate Brown accepted a contribution to her re-election campaign from Soros – his first direct involvement in that state’s elections,” WND noted. “Three days later, Brown announced the Oregon National Guard would not be participating in President Trump’s effort to get the Guard providing border security.” (ONN)

“Soros pledged Sept. 20, 2016, to invest up to $500 million in programs and companies benefiting migrants and refugees ‘fleeing life-threatening situations,’” WND recounted.

Soros’ agenda works hand-in-hand with Pueblo Sin Fronteras’ initiative, which was formed to give preferential treatment to migrants WND

“In the U.S., his foundation has provided funding for the Black Lives Matter movement and open borders activists,” the independent Internet daily continued. “The foundation has also provided funding to anti-Trump ‘resistance’ groups, funded opposition research on critics of radical Islam and attempted to influence Supreme Court rulings.”

“Inside Philanthropy reported in 2016 that Soros – who has said that he considers himself to be ‘some kind of god’ – began laying the groundwork for the foundation to continue his mission after he dies,” WND recalled. “Hacked Open Society Foundation documents published last summer shed light on the way in which Soros has used his foundation to advance progressive, open-borders policies – both domestically and abroad.” WND

[note: this is Albania, but raises the question: is there a similar connection between USAID programs in Guat, Hon, SanSal, etc., and Soros funding?)
“Earlier this month, Judicial Watch obtained 32 pages of records showing the Obama administration sent U.S. taxpayers’ funds to a group backed by Soros, which used the money to fund left-wing political activities in Albania, including working with the country’s socialist government to push for highly controversial judicial ‘reform,’” WND added. “The records also detail how the Soros operation helped the State Department review grant applications from other groups for taxpayer funding.”

“The new documents show USAID funds were funneled through that agency’s Civil Society Project to back Soros’s left-wing Open Society Foundations in Albania – particularly the Soros operation efforts to give the socialist government greater control of the judiciary,” WND explained. “USAID reportedly gave $9 million in 2016 to the ‘Justice for All’ campaign, which is overseen by Soros’s ‘East West Management Institute.’” (ONN)
