What’s funny is that I can drive from Salt Lake City to Vegas in 6 hours, probably more like 7 including bathroom breaks and food. For the Tesla, that trip is an overnighter (or a REALLY long day) because the car can only make it 265 miles, then it has to recharge for 6-10 hours depending on the power source. Who the hell wants to take a road trip like that? I’d rather take 10 minutes to fill up, take a wizz, grab a road snack/drink, and hit the road again.
Tesla has 3 or 4 supercharging stations along I15. Assuming there is no wait at the stations, it would be about a hour to recharge total. It is likely there would be 1 big recharge and possibly a splash and go under ideal conditions. One of the problems with a Tesla is sightseeing off the beaten track. You have to reserve enough charge to get back to a supercharger if on a day trip.
