” a Republican volunteer was confronted by a man who showed a gun at a Mecklenburg County polling place, police said. “

Illegal to open carry at the polls?
I assume the man wasn’t arrested for that but for interfering.
Remembering that pic of the Black Panther outside the polls...

it may depend on the state but in Texas, yes it is illegal to bring a gun. Period. However the poll judges can carry (as can law enforcement agents).

Also cannot have a cellphone/electronic device in use within 100 feet (or inside) polling center or wear campaign/party/etc shirts/hats/pins.
