The fact that Kathy is still upright, well most of the time anyways, is proof that Trump has a generous heart.
According to my memory, “A chicken in every pot” was Hoover during the 1928 election campaign, not McKinley.
Damn, right. McK was “a full dinner pail.”
Oh, and I suck?
Larry, I'm jealous.
..Professor Schweikart is one of the FR’s true heavyweights—like you Laz !
Bump
Laz is a Hall of Famer, known for the time-tested quote:
“I’d hit it!”
I don’t think I can get in and fix this.
The editor there doesn’t see his job as actually reading and checking pieces . . . He’s more of an advocate/clearing house guy, but ultimately it was my mistake.
Yabut, what a thing to be known for.
Funny story: April Fools Day 2005, I wrote an Aprils Fool Joke that I would no longer say, "I'd hit it."
The backlash was extended and severe, and while I was amused at how well the joke worked, I also realized you have to give the public what they want.
Just like the Lovable Lush character portrayed by Foster Brooks -- who grew to hate his character -- I had to keep being the "I'd hit it" guy, whether or not I wanted to.
So...(wearily, on the verge of tears, forced smile).... "I'd hit it."
(sob)
When these guys post, people listen!
That story reminds me of an episode of The Office, where Michael Scott tries to swear off all humor, including “That’s what she said”.
Another one is Roger Rabbit giving away his hiding place because (being a toon) he can’t resist saying “Two Bits!” following the shave and a haircut knock on the wall. Priceless.
LOL. Your comment gave me quite a chuckle. ;)
