Another example of how Trump is a master at trolling Democrats. Pitches one of their plans as his own with just two weeks to go for the midterms. They can't oppose him without looking hypocritical and he can walk it back to something more sane after the election.

I thank God that we don’t have to pay for our medications, medical equipment and such. One less thing to worry about.

He mentioned this at his rally in Elko, NV last weekend, along with a middle-class tax cut and a “surprise” he wasn’t at liberty to talk about just yet.

The problem with drug pricing is simple. The research and development of a new drug is in the tens of millions of dollars and more. Once the drug is approved the manufacturing process is relatively cheap.

The consumer in the United State pays for the costs of research and development. Other nations will set prices for these drugs. The manufacturer is quite happy to sell at this price as the cost of production is low. They can make a good profit even at these low prices. It is not the drug companies fault. They are doing business in a perfectly rational manner as dictated by foreign governments price controls.

What Donald Trump is trying to do will make our costs go down and the costs go up in foreign nations that dictate the price of drugs in their nations. Thus they will pay their fair share of the research and development costs.

That would be a great move. Americans are paying far higher prices than people in other countries for the same medications made by the same companies. Some global corporations see that as fairness.

Hopefully he moves fast. I might have to start flying to Canada to buy cancer drugs for my wife. We are currently in a battle with Insurance company to cover the drug. We have good insurance and Tricare.

Her cancer does not have any know approve drug, so we have to get an off label drug that looks promising. She has ACC, a very cancer in the world.

The drug will cost us $2000 a month, in Canada 900 dollars for a three month supply.
