After Barack Obama was elected in 2008, the no-longer-printed Newsweek magazine declared in a cover story “We are all socialists now.”
This month, as WND reported, a new poll examining the political leanings of the next generation of leaders found 31 percent of millennials identify as “democratic socialist” or “socialist” while 40 percent of men in that age group say the same.
Now, the Trump administration is offering an educational resource through its Council of Economic Advisors that asks whether or not socialism has ever delivered on its promises.
It’s an empirical question, contends the 72-page report “The Opportunity Cost of Socialism,” published Tuesday, not an abstract philosophical debate.
The report examines not only the track record of socialist experiments that once were vaunted in the West, such as the Soviet Union, Cuba and Venezuela. It looks at hard data to evaluate the Nordic states that many on the left now hold up as models.
The panel of advisers, chaired by economist Kevin Hassett, begin by pointing out that with the 200th anniversary of Karl Marx’s birth, “socialism is making a comeback in American political discourse.”

Its a repeat of the 60’s hippie movement. Guys joined for the free sex. Today its more because of the feminization of the boys that more closely indentify with women and their emotions.
There is something to this. Nostalgia for the 1960s, being part of the party crowd, sex of course for the guys, and power for the feminists who use sex for power.
Also, the politics of peer pressure, for those who are too weak or ignorant to learn and stand for the facts, and just want approval by anyone and everyone. Negative reinforcement is particularly effective to use with this type, but the left is now overplaying this tactic.
Then of course there are just those hard core Marxists, who don’t want to call themselves ‘Marxist’..... kind of like how your average ‘community organizer’ doesn’t want to be associated with, although really is, a ‘communist agitator’. These are the true tyrants in waiting.
It’s a con: Yes, YOU can have a free lunch. YOU can give according to your ability and take according to your needs. Except that it’s a lie used to con the gullible and greedy... to seduce them into bondage.

I like to think of Socialism as a fleece lined cage with the door open, pillows and food, and even a seductive mate awaiting inside, waiting for the moment when you are too far in,,, and the door slams shut.
This is an EXCELLENT publication, but I seriously doubt ir would have an affect in millennials.
Rush Limbaugh’s short, historically correct story about the first Thanksgivings is far more powerful and should be read in every school every Thanksgiving. It should become a Thanksgivung Tradition.

It's really not that complicated to convey how socialism kills the incentive and enthusiasm required to create and be happy.
People don't like to be told what to do...and that is exactly what socialism not only does, but HAS TO DO.
