You make an interesting point about Islam's staying power as compared to that of communism.

I think it's staying power is a function of it being a religion.

Like communism, it leaves its followers in abject poverty, but in the case of Islam, these poor followers feel "holy" in the way that Islams tells them they are "holy."

Communists just feel poor.

Also, Rooster, islam gives you a beautiful afterlife which communism does not. One of communism’s many failings.
