This burns me to no end. I was an enthusiastic Gab user. This is about nothing more than shutting down any voices that threaten the CultMarx narrative. You have to bake that cake, but apparently, if you're a tech company, you reserve the right to refuse service to whoever you choose. It's the utter, stinking hypocrisy of this that burns me the most.

I hope whoever is hosting FR is more resistant to this kind of pressure.

The site is effectively down at this time, 2311 EST.

GAB needs it’s own server and T1 line.

as if nobody on twitter or fb has ever committed a murder? you ban THEIR accounts not shut down the entire site.

the more you kill freedom of speech the more violence you get.

IMHO if they can’t host themselves they are not really viable...

Those who control all of this come from the deepest depths of Hell. Those they ban from places like Facebook or twitter have been going to GAB. This is how they ban those same people again. This same tactic is going to be used against sites like Free Republic. It is only a matter of time.

Already down and gone. They welcomed pornography, etc., not surprised they are gone. Not memorable, not of value.

I've always thought that the FR servers were owned by the Robinsons. If this is so and as long as contributions can be made by paper check, FR should be OK—or at least immune from the specific attacks that took Gab down.

"I hope whoever is hosting FR is more resistant to this kind of pressure."

As someone who once argued w/Jim about considering not hosting FR themselves, and him arguing back that he didn't want to be controlled, I will have to give that one to Jim :-)

I predicted this.

First is was the social media websites. Next is was the hosting providers? What will they pull next?

There is only one game in town. Big Government with their high tech cronies.

Gab and others who wish to compete don't have a chance.

gab needs to implement Zeronet and build its own network of crypto-servers. It’s the only solution to end this rampant Marxist language control. MSNBC allows a guest on live TV to encourage someone “to put a bullet” in the President, and nobody says boo. Gab gets booted because of one antisemitic ignoramus (and IMO a likely Liberal plant for a false flag).

It burns me too. I want to burn the whole mother**cking tech sector to the ground. Time for a new era of Luddites.

Who is Gab’s host?

That can happen here at FR?

This strengthens the case for the antitrust actions that need to be brought against Twitter, Facebook, Amazon and Alphabet for their Google and YouTube monopolies.

These are effectively monopolies. Not only do they utterly dominate their own sectors, but they can get what puny competitors they do have shut down.

What other web sites did the shooter use? Twitter? Facebook? Gmail? Youtube? Better shut them all down.

I don’t think shutting social media down is the answer but I guess that’s the ugly world we live in where freedom is being trampled on.

Weird thing. A short time ago I happened upon the wikipedia page for hypocrisy.
