I always used to have as a part of the TOS on my site(s) clauses against hate speech and violence, we still promoted the concept of free speech, which was a contradiction, because at the same time, we always reminded people that the (US) first amendment is only a protection against government interference and doesn’t control privately run businesses and/or services. But the problem, I have noticed, with promoting the spirit of free speech is that it attracts those who can’t find another home for their radical messages to find a home with your site (or whatever platform or service you provide) and it gets to be quite a burden and quite contentious, because people will argue that defining hate speech is subjective, and they will do it for some of the most radical speech there is. They are partially self-delusional, but I believe part of them knows it’s fringe but defend it anyway because, well, they actually believe it.

Things like this remind me why I’m happy I got out of that world. I saw the writing on the wall well over 10 years ago. There are a lot of good people who will use the service for good, sometimes (harmlessly) bad things, but usually just for expression. But it takes a few bad apples. They are so very rare, but when everyone else rejects them and you don’t (albeit your intentions are grand) they will find you.

And it is sad, but to godaddy’s defense, and that host, they are not beholden to the first amendment.

Yes, free speech may have died today, in your opinion, but it was an illusion all along. These businesses don’t want to be associated with this event, and even though it may not have been Gab’s goal to provide harbor for someone like this, they still have to decide if un-moderated anarchy is really a virtue.

Don’t be a moron - they were NEVER associated with the shooting and neither was Gab. That you support and even encourage these actions proves that you wholly support censorship and Orwellian “rightthink”.

Get bent. You don’t believe in freedom or liberty you’re just another milquetoast sop who’s too lazy to know the point.

You don’t support free speech if you also try to define what you liberals call ‘hate speech’, which is simply anything you don’t agree with.

I've seen numerous Lefty accounts on Twitter make death threats against President Trump.

They don't lose their accounts, nor do they delete the threats, for the most part.   thinking face

This is an actual conspiracy against the free speech of the enemies of the Left on the Internet.

Watch Silicon Valley biggie Dave McClure lose it in front of a giant tech audience after Trump beat Felonia in 2016:

"We [Silicon Valley] provide communications platforms for the rest of the country, and we are allowing s**t to happen..."

"...It's our duty and our responsibility as entrepreneurs, as citizens of the f**king world, to make sure that s**t does not happen [people like Trump taking office]..."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVTVf7ffShg

Then, McClure and his Lefty tech pals talk about how Zuckerberg needs to make us consume only "news" like CNNPC, MSNPC and NPCRadio.

"Maybe only Zuck can save us by making us all look at the same news source..." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3AEvVTEkug

Where are we at today? Sounds like what McClure and his pals wanted back in late 2016 is "magically" coming true...
