What a wacky idea. The Speaker of the House for the first several decades of its creation was a ceremonial role more akin to the Speaker of the House of Commons in the Westminster System; during the time Jefferson offered his idea mentioned in the article. It was during the 19th century where the position assumed its partisan role and becoming the most powerful position in the House starting with Henry Clay, then Thomas Reed, and culminating with Cannon in the first decade of the 20th century. An outsider with no electoral or power base would have no ability to use the Speaker’s immense power. That power vacuum would have top to be filled by someone else.

Can you imagine two-and-a-half years into the Trump phenomenon that dumbarse Fund still doesn’t get it?

For goodness’ sake, no wonder the country is in the shape it is.

If the House deadlocks, the Constitution allows the body to select a non-member to serve as speaker and run the place. It’s never happened before, but at the beginning of this century, few thought figures such as Barack Obama or Donald Trump could ever be elected president.

First off the above statement has nothing to do with Speaker of the House. This is just Never-Trump John Fund's dig at President Trump. He only threw in Obama because he knows President Trump is popular, and Obama is expendable.

While she has done a good job at the U.N. and I give her credit for that, I personally do not care for the woman at all.

I’m a strong backer of Jordan, but the “moderates” won’t vote for him. So if your choice we’re mccarthy or Haley, what would be your choice? Just speaking hypothetically. This article is fantasy

Because you don’t live in a vacuum,

The lefts attack on southern heritage and statues etc is part of the progressive scheme to create a minority white utopia

We down south are jus low hanging fruit and their biggest nightmare

They aren’t stopping with us

And handing us over won’t sate them

Jim Jordan....
We have had enough of the GOP-e picking its leaders.
Dennis Hasert (the gay guy)
Bonehead
Lyn Ryan

Newt was the only good one and he was compromised by his affair.
The RATS said “Do what we want or we will go public”
They used the same thing against Hasert, Bonehead and Ryan.

I was lost at words when Trump selected her as ambassador for the UN, an ‘enemy’ an ‘anti Trumper’ and an ‘anti-confederacy history re-writer’.

The only thing I could think of was that it was a strategic move to get a potential enemy out of the way, move a piece out of the board.

She did a fantastic job at the UN.

But that doesn’t erase any of the concerns I initially had about her.

We just got rid of Ryan, a RINO and an enemy of Trump behind the scenes. It would be a mistake to replace him with a similar person.

We are always told moderates won’t vote for him. Why do we never hear concern conservatives won’t vote for that moderate?

Screw these moderates always getting their way through extortion. It works both ways. Conservatives have bitten the bullet dozens of times. Now it’s the moderates turn to do that same for once.

John Fund is a Cheap Labor Express stooge, same as Nikki Haley.

They are desperate to maintain control.

This is a colossally bad idea.

Nikki Haley is just like every other SC politician, bought and paid for Cheap Labor Express stooge, see Flimsey Grahamnesty.

“mccarthy or Haley”

So either way we get an amnesty establishment Romney type. Nice parlor trick.
