“... asking for money ahead of time crosses the line into vote-buying.”

I agree with you. Can’t stand either, but there was never any doubt of vote-buying going on here. Their votes were pre-cast before his name even came up.

I agree.

But this almost vote extortion.

Send me money or I might vote the other way or not vote at all.

While I agree that this is an egregious vote-buying scheme, we are compelled to note in a calm moment, that those two would vote against Kavanaugh even if millions in donations were put up to get them to vote “yes.” (There are already millions in place to determine how those Democrats vote, on every issue.)

By the same token, any of their constituents that might have felt obliged to send ‘em money to assure those two would vote against Kavanaugh is a sucker and need their heads examined, as their “no” was long ago assured.

HOWEVER... just as for Blousey Ford’s GoFundMe that raked in hundreds of thousands for the good doctor (cough, cough), far be it from Warren and/or Harris to miss out on a gravy train of essentially laundered pay-off money, to keep those gals “on track” to always vote 100% liberal Democrat.
