The Homeland Security leader said the troops would be able to defend themselves if called upon to do so......
Surely that means they will have bullets for their rifles.
Why aren’t we adding to security in California?

Somebody mentioned that the caravans are closest to Texas, so start there and move west.....
However, I heard an interview with DHS Sec who said something about having concentrated on critical areas in California (San Diego especially) in Wall building up to this point. California may already have some important shoring up accomplished, thereby lessening the urgency until the immediate threat south of Texas is handled.
I also recall Trump speaking some time ago about how he got an agreement from MoonBeam that US Nat Guard can indeed be placed on the California border, when they had been most uncooperative about that.

According to a border patrol guy who was on Dobbs’ program, they wont’ be able to do all that much. The troops are certainly not going to fire on the invaders.
The troops only do support work for the BP.
I know, and the border patrol has admitted they can’t possibly detain all these invaders, so what is going to stop them at the border? Once they are in, they can claim asylum and get a hearing... a hearing that only 20% show up for. The rest are free as birds to find some place in the US to hide.
I agree, they won’t be firing on them but they’ll be armed and able to protect themselves if fired on.
Them being armed will pretty much ensure they won’t be fired on.
