Muslims, like Jews, also deny that Jesus is the Christ.

Jews and Christians claim the same Old Testament scriptures. Where we differ (fundamentally) is on two counts. The first is with respect to the significance of the Law.

30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. 31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

Righteousness before God, as with Abraham, is by faith, not by the works of the law

The second difference is with respect to this very subject "genetics". We Christians understand Jesus as the promised seed, the promise made to Abraham by God, a promise which is not annulled by the giving of the Law.

6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: 7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

And who are the children of promise? Paul explains this in Galatians 3:16ff:

16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. 17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. 18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

Jesus is the promise seed and the "children of promise" are all those who God has given the authority to become His children. As it says right at the beginning of the Gospel of John:

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:11-13)

If you want to see yourself as the New Israel, great. But don't presume to imagine that we have ceased to exist. That's delusion

The "commonwealth of Isreal" has been maintained by God in Christ -- Ephesians 2:11-22. It has always been a spiritual community, connected by faith in God. But, now that Christ has come, those who reject him demonstrate that they are not part of that community.

Jews who say they are looking for the Messiah, and yet reject the only Messiah that there every shall be, are delusioned.
