Most Synagogues have had security for two to three decades. Every entrance, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, no. Even large, affluent congregations usually have a financial problem with that. As to your opinion that Jews are dull, it's just that, your opinion.

I live near Pittsburgh and very familiar with Squirrel Hill and the Synagogue since family lived there quite awhile...it’s all thae favorable things you hear about it now....But anyone could walk in there at any time outside of special high events....and this Synagogue is quite an active one at pretty much any time.
