As long as the Georgia state legislature remains Republican, not much will change. The governor in Georgia can use the pocket veto under some circumstances to thwart the will of the legislature, which the present outgoing governor occasionally used, but does not have sweeping powers to order Medicaid expansion, for example, or make other sweeping changes.
True....but Isackson is old. If he dies in office, the governor gets to appoint his replacement.
