WTH is it with that!?!?!!
Staten Island is solid conservative. If it wasn’t for the North Shore (take a guess who lives there) we would be OVERWHELMINGLY conservative.
Yet the Staten Island Advance is owned and run by an uber liberal family.
Yet conservatives buy it still or view it online and have kept it in business all these DECADES.
Part of it is the Journalism Schools. When I went to ESU, it was deeply conservative, hard-core. And you’d see that in the columns written in the campus newspapers. Hard-core conservative...but with ONE EXCEPTION: There would be vile, hate-filled, disgusting, columns attacking conservatives, and they were ALWAYS written by either a ‘Journalism’ major or a ‘Communications’ major.
So what happens - you get Fox and the Wall Street Journal, which are (or at least were) conservative, and what do they do? They run out and hire these ‘Journalism’ graduates. What the hell were they expecting, and why the hell should ‘Journalism’ be anything more than a 2 year degree, if that? All that is needed is someone who can write well and ask questions...that’s it. There is no ‘education’ needed, so instead they are indoctrinated.
