the writers of the constitutional clause worked very hard to make SURE it did not confer citizenship on “anchor babies”
or illegal immigrants
or anything like that

so, if there is no statute conferring such “free gifts” ...and so far nobody’s cited any such law.......

then the president has the DUTY to stop this awful practice

You are absolutely correct. First off, when this hits the now “conservative leaning” SCOTUS, they will study the framers original intent. They will then adjudicate against proponents of birthright citizenship not only based on the original intent, but based on (Jurisdiction thereof).

Illegal aliens are NOT under our Jurisdiction, they are under the jurisdiction of their home countries based on their citizenship.

It will be a great day for America when President Trump signs an executive order ending birthright citizenship. It will surely be challenged and likely have injunctions set against it in lower courts. It will take time to make it to the Supreme Court...but be assured, it will make it.

Historical in that it will be the first time the SCOTUS has adjudicated the 14th Amendment. Yippie!
