Turkish attacks against the SDF only stopped because US patrols arrived in Tall Abyad and Kobane some hours ago
My guess would be that the strikes were about Afrin or other guerila fighting. Common practise in ME to attack civilians in retaliation.

Turkey, Russia, Germany, France had a meeting in Istanbul this past weekend. I think it might have made Erdogan very angry. (when is he not?)
