Sen. Joe Donnelly (Ind.), a conservative Democrat in one of the tightest reelection battles in the country, made a cringeworthy and puzzling statement about some minorities on his staff during a debate Tuesday night. To begin, heres a quick vocab refresher. The definition of the word but, according to Google, is to introduce something contrasting with what has already been mentioned."
So it was strange when Donnelly, in what seemed like a genuine effort to compliment his aides, said this when asked how he would bring diversity into his staffing: Our state director is Indian American, but he does an amazing job. Our director of all constituent services, shes African American, but she does an even more incredible job than you could ever imagine.
Mr. Senator, but, what?

To quantify, we can safely say that the left 14% has shifted 5 or so percent into the light blue 2% zone. Trump has created a similar shift to the right except perhaps 8 or 10 % The bell curve has flattened in the center
This had to happen eventually. The Left always purges their ranks of any non-conformists in .
They always wind up ‘Far Left’.....................
It is now skewed to the Left..................

A good question..... but no "but".
lol

I hope Donnelly is vanquished.
Well, think about that.
President Trump has aquired the devotion of many moderates. The Moderate attraction has skewed the curve rightward. That is true especially near the center.
In the absence of real numbers, that is my analysis.

My mother always used to say “She’s colored, but she’s nice.” She wasn’t making the qualification for herself, but for any listener who might harbor prejudice.
And they all look alike, too.

I obviously didn't know your fine mother, but to me that was a very unnecessary qualifier from your mother to use.
Who the hell was she talking to when she chose those words?
There are no ‘Moderate Democrats’ any more than there are ‘Moderate Muslims’...................
For the record, there are moderate Muslims, tens of millions of them.
A radical Muslim wants to cut your head off.
A moderate Muslim wants the radical Muslim to cut your head off............

........... and articulate.
Democrats have become that scum that grows in septic tanks............. only to flow out into and out of Hillary's foul mouth.
I think this entire issue is stupid. If this were a republican, and he used “but” instead of “and”, I wouldn’t give a damn. I’m not going to give any more of a damn because a moron democrat did it.
So those people do sometimes work out? And they can even be clean and articulate? This is a big fing deal.
Noone in particular I'm sure. Just someone raised in a different time.
I have a huge playlist on my media center that pretty much plays tunes all day long. In that playlist there are a number of tunes by the Sons of the Pioneers, many of which were recorded in the 30s and 40s. One of the tracks came up a few months ago that really jumped out at me.
The lyrics were as follows:
Darkie picks the cotton
White man makes the money.
It was jarring to hear something like that these days, but the SOTP were a mainstream group (still in existence btw), that played many traditional tunes in addition to their own stuff. That was one. No one thought much about it at the time, but it certainly wouldn't get any radio play today. I certainly don't judge these folks as racists, and they remain in the playlist because they made good music, and are a reminder that times were different back then.
