Never pull a gun unless you are ready and competent in using it. If the only reason you pull a gun is to scare someone or just hold them until police arrive, you are probably going to be a victim.
I never can remember the name of that western movie where the hero shoots the guy from under the suds in the bath tub. And as the bad guy falls, the hero says “You always did talk too much.”
That is my idea of how to handle a self defense situation. Never let the guy know what is about to happen...never ever say a word until no one is there to hear it.
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Tuco - If you’re gonna shoot, shoot. Don’t talk
Thanks.
Funny how my memory came up with the wrong quote, but the idea is the same. I wonder if I might have seen another movie in addition to the Clint Eastwood movie.
No matter. The advice is the same.
Is there a different charge for murder with a non-lethal weapon?
Confrontation isn’t always an optimal situation.
Bet he did not have a bright flashlight or floodlights he could turn on. Clearly he did not have a quick trigger finger.
When the moment of truth arrives many folks go wobbly about pulling the trigger. Never pull a gun unless youre willing to use it. And, when you use it shoot to kill, aim center mass....
Probable valued life enough to have hopes the sight of the weapon would be enough...and the animals killed him for it.
Is it possible to commit murder with a non-deadly weapon?
Wait, the man was peacefully arrested, and not shot to death?
But I thought only white killers got arrested peacefully?
This is why I would probably side with the guy on the ground in the parking lot shooting, because if you have a gun, but don’t use it, and the criminal is able to approach you, he can steal the gun and use it against you.
It sounds great to say “point the gun and say “stop”, but I bet that’s what this guy did, not wanting to kill a person unless he had to, and now he is dead.
