1 Nov 20181,555 BOSTON (AP) The Boston Red Sox say they havent decided whether they will visit the White House if invited by President Donald Trump.
Manager Alex Cora said Thursday he wants to use the platform he has as a World Series champion in the right way. A native Puerto Rican, Cora has been outspoken about the need for help on the island since it was devastated by Hurricane Maria.
The traditional White House visit has become increasingly partisan, with some players declining to make the trip because of their political views.

Taxpayers should defund these stadiums
This statement by the team should insure they are not invited. It would be best if the practice of inviting teams was put in abeyance for a few years.
They shouldn’t be given a stage to strut their dysfunction and polarize America. One of the functions of team sports is to promote National unity; another to promote good sportsmanship & team spirit. The current teams have lost sight of their role in the greater picture and seem to believe they are supposed to be SJW.
Oh yeah, sure. “Trump dissed Puerto Rico so don’t visit him in the White House.”
No longer any doubt. Leftism is insanity.
Go ahead Red Sox, piss off half of your fans, that worked great for the NFL.
Never EVER blame the corrupt Communist officials in PR!
lol. Good point I never thought about it that way, it does seem just a little creepy. Also, one must pay rather hansomly for the privelage, yes?
Agreed. Get the White House back to serious governance. Stop turning it into a mouthpiece for athletes. That cheapens and demeans the office.
PLEASE MR PRESIDENT, dont invite them to the whitehouse. Put a stop to this stupid practice. You havent even put an invite out and they are already talking shit. Screw them all. Stop inviting overpaid babies to the whitehouse all together.
The White Sox are from Chicago, and lost almost double the games they won.
The Red Sox won the 2018 World Series, won 108 regular season games, and are being scumbags about the President.
The White Sox may indeed be scumbags also, but not about this issue.
Those who choose to not attend will lose much of their fan base, and (one suspects) some endorsement offers, and will know that they have a hand in damaging their sport.
Earth to Red Sox..... Trump doesn’t give a crap, and neither do we.
Haven’t watched a game since the 1994-95 strike....and yet somehow my life has gone on, and gone fairly well if I do say so myself.
Good. Dont go.
The President of the United States has more important concerns than a photo op with a bunch of disrespectful morons who get paid millions of dollars to play a kids game.
Everyone of the Houston Astros went last year except Verlander and he was getting married. I think it has a lot to do with your owner.
“...Boston = Massachusetts = Unwelcome...”
What’s so ironic is that area was very birth place and cradle of our freedom and our country. Today is stands as the cradle of Communism USA. It’s very sad how far they’ve fallen away.
Agree!
“IF invited by Trump”
If indeed.
Hey, baseball players, don’t be *&%^* tools! If you have a problem with any of the POTUS policies, never mind the fact that you are probably wrong, but think of this.... your are baseball players. Ask the NFL how crapping all over the national anthem is going for their bottom line. Get a clue.
The game is boring enough without predictable libtard behavior on your part. Be different.
KYPD
OK, they are good baseball players.
As for all else, who gives a shi...er...CNN?
