ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Democrats are refusing to take President Donald Trump's bait.
In the run-up to next Tuesday's crucial midterm elections, Trump's push to turn out his base has included a raft of divisive policy proposals, controversial political statements and even a racially charged ad from his re-election campaign.
He's announced that he's contemplating a plan to roll back protections for transgender students, sending a war-sized force of U.S. troops to the southern border with instructions to shoot migrants if they throw rocks, and writing an executive order ending the 14th Amendment's guarantee of citizenship for those born inside American borders. And he's called his opposition the “party of crime” and “really evil people.”
Democrats, he told a rally crowd in Missouri this week, “have gone crazy, folks. They have gone totally loco. The Democrats are the party of rigid ideology and total conformity.”
"It’s clear that President Trump is engaged in a cynical political effort to distract voters in the final days of this election, but our candidates have remained focused on what voters care about most - pocketbook issues like the cost of health care and protections for people with pre-existing health conditions," Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen, the chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, said over email.
It's not a coordinated strategy so much as a collective assessment that it's smart to avoid obvious traps Trump is laying obvious in an increasingly desperate attempt to knock Democrats off their message.
In other words, Democrats are in array.
"I'm elated that my side isn't taking the bait," said Rep. Brendan Boyle, D-Pa. "For me, it's not coming from any sort of top-down dictate. That's my own judgment and has been for a long time. But Nancy and others are of exactly the same mind."

By Democrats, he means so-called journalists.
I don’t think we have a Goebbels photo that would be big enough for this piece.
But notice they are letting Trump set these debates open and are silent. For the first time in my life a GOP politician has silenced his Rat critics, opened the debate and let people respond if only until after the election. The Rats have lost this issue, probably forever, and they didn’t open their mouths. That is impressive 4D chess.
Amazing, the mind process that liberals have. Such denial and ignorance. But, they cannot take the bait. In fact they can’t say anything. They just have to sit there and take the beating, much like the frat boys in Animal House...Thank you sir, may I have another.
If they come out in support of the illegal alien zombie horde, he’ll crush them. If the come out in support of the President, and the people, their own party will crush them. Lose, Lose.
And good Lord, if he can replace Ginsburg, anytime soon and add some numbers to Congress. So long Birthright Citizenship. The one thing, that if it was gotten rid of, would put an end to a very, very substantial amount of illegal immigration. I’d go so far, as to say, 75% or more.

What is this guy smoking? He lists a whole littany of things that Trump did that are bad, wrong and bait. And he fails to understand that not one single thing he said was actually true.
And then he wonders why NBC is Fake News?

I heard him say that he wants the troops to shoot any of these invaders who throw rocks at them.
If anything I thought they would take that bait.

How low will they get?
Just because a white Hispanic is a cop killer? what? white is not a good enough color? There was a attempted murderer included in the ad with a little more indian heritage.. is he who they are referring to?
This constant references to peoples races, even when they put their foot on their mouth is really upsetting.
Noteworthy also, for the lack of Aunty-Fay activity.
Not only does illegal immigration need to be completely stopped, illegals that are here need to leave. Every single one of them.
Not so much the Democrats, and their friends in the press, are not taking the bait, but that they don’t know how to respond to such a many-pronged assault on all their most beloved and cherished beliefs.
In short, they do not know whether to defecate, or just go into hysterical loss of vision.
Maybe they could pass a little gas and close one eye.

So many good things from President Trump since 2016 election. One thing that surprised me is that Trump, without any prior political experience, is political genius.
