I was not aware we had early voting in CA. I have never heard of early voting here????
I mailed in my & family's ballots a couple of weeks ago.
We mailed ours off October 13th..
Vote early
California voters can also vote before Election Day. The early voting period runs from Monday, October 8 to Monday, November 5, but dates and hours may vary based on where you live. You can look up when and where to vote early at GetToThePolls.com.
So your vote is still to come, good news!
It’s not early voting. It’s absentee ballots mailed early and can be as high as 30% of the total vote in some areas.
The mailed in ballots remain sealed until the polls close on election day and will be reported first.
Conclusions can be drawn from who is returning the ballots, not votes but just tends.

Absentee ballots by mail. We have been doing that for years now.
There is early voting by mail. No special excuse needed, you can just ask for an absentee ballot.
I think the form to request it is included with your sample ballot, you can request permanent absentee ballot. But it is too late for this election.
But be sure to get out and vote.
I was not aware California had Republicans anymore.
Cali has mail in which I do every year. I go into my garage, put my head in a cardboard box and fill out my ballot.
Today was the day of early voting at an actual voting station.

Go to your County Voting Registrar and request an Absentee Ballot. We've been doing it for some years in Orange County. Early voting and no hassles going to Voting location.
The only hassle is going through the extensive Voting paperwork they send you. Simple solution: Google California RNC and check off the boxes they recommend. In all these years, I've found one recommendation I disagreed with about Propositions. Too late for you now, but do it for the future. Yes, your absentee ballot is counted.
Here in Sacramento County they did away with neighborhood polling places. They mail out ballots and you can mail them in, drop them at “drop off locations” or go vote at “voting centers” on election day if you lose or don’t get a ballot. There are three in my medium sized town as opposed to dozens of the old polling places. I imagine the lines will be long there on election day.
Mrs. Hugin and I have our ballots filled out, just need to drop them off. I think this was designed to help Dems but I suspect it will backfire, as Pubs are more likely to follow through get them in.
It’s called “Mail-in ballot”. In my area, that’s the ONLY WAY you can vote. There is no polling place for my “district”, although I believe there is (or was) one a tenth of a mile away. But that is a different district, so I can’t go there.
No matter. I walk by the County Registrar’s office weekly, so I dropped off my ballot about 2 weeks ago.
