MAYWOOD (CBSLA) — A teacher was arrested Friday after a violent confrontation with a student inside a classroom.
Video of the incident at Maywood Academy High School shows the teacher swinging at the student following an alleged dispute over the uniform the student was wearing.
Police and school district officials had not identified the teacher at the time of this report.
Parents want answers.

First of all this happened today! Friday November second. And second of all, it didn’t escalate because of a dress code. I am a student at this High School and i saw the video and heard from witnesses. The student in the video was saying verbal and racial things to the teacher before the teacher had thrown the first punch. The student is at fault here, this particular teacher is actually kind and cool with everyone. Unnecessary and racial comments as well as getting a basketball thrown at him by the student provoked the action. Please get your facts straight to whoever did this report.
I did something similar in school once. Younger kid was being aggressive towards me on the school bus every single day for about 9 months straight, no one else did a thing about it no matter how much I complained, finally one day I snapped and cracked his skull open in a merciless beatdown that would be too gruesome for TV. Bet he still remembers the taste of school bus floor to this day.

Long time ago when I was about 14, some stupid pencil neck was mouthing off at me at a football game. After about 5 minutes of it I put my fist against his toncils.
He lost 16 front teeth completely, and had to have an artificial vromer implanted so he could wear dentures.
He became a very quiet person.
You did the right thing. Some people are small brained and big mouthed. They best learn from being met by brute strength , like a feral life form.
In hindsight I probably could have saved everyone a lot of grief by hitting him the first time, rather than letting it drag in out 9 months and then hitting him with all that pent-up frustration all at once.

Correct. You cant just have people who are allowed to attack other people who are the only ones who cannot hit vack and defend themselves.
Society thru media and enertainment foster the ideas women can assault men without consequences, and minors can assault adults without consequences. If men or adults are attacked they have every right to fight back regardless of their attacker.
Wheres society on blaming the assaulter when tge victim is a guy? Nowhere.
If someone assaults me, I am beating their ass and I’ll take my chances with a jury trial.
Good luck with that. If you're beating their ass to defend yourself it's one thing. But if you're beating their ass to get revenge, well, your chances might not be too good, depending on the jury.

Who - btw, threw his career down the drain and probably will get jail time. But, ‘hey, he showed that kid not to disrespect him’.
I wasn’t defending anyone, I just posted a relevant comment from a student. But I can’t blame the teacher: the kid found out what an adult is. And the teacher’s career isn’t over. There are PLENTY of opportunities overseas, much better than LA.
Agreed. It sounds like the kid was obnoxious and should have been suspended or expelled......but that said, you can’t just start taking swings at people like the teacher did. That’s battery and he needs to be prosecuted for it. Obviously he needs to be fired immediately. The video clearly shows him taking the first swing.
