Republicans fear Trump has conceded the House as he fights to keep GOP hold on Senate

As President Trump makes his way across the country to stump for Republican candidates in tight Senate races, Republican aides worry that the House of Representatives is being left behind.

In the final days before the midterm elections, Trump is traveling to West Virginia, Indiana, Montana, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, and Missouri to stump for Republican candidates he believes he can give a last-minute boost in the polls.

Focusing on Senate battles appears to be the most effective use of Trump's time, but his lack of attention to House races in the final days is causing some concern for GOP House staffers who are already preparing for the "blue wave" in the lower chamber.

"I would not write this off entirely as if there is zero chance [of keeping the House]. There is a path and that path is narrow," a GOP leadership aide told the Washington Examiner Friday from the campaign trail.

"I think if we hold it, it is by a small margin of something like 5 to 8 seats. The last few weeks our side got more energized and closer to the level that we have seen from Democrats all along. I do think that the events of the last week — the Pittsburgh shooting, mail bombs — has been tough for some. I think it is still closer than where we were a month ago."

Aides within the more conservative faction of the party do not think the Republican-led House did enough to prove to voters they are worthy of re-electing. Many, like House Freedom Caucus co-founder Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, argue that the accomplishments of this Congress are really attributable to Trump.

Evidently they believe that all those people at Trump rallies are going to vote for the Republican for Senator but the Democrat for representative.

Anybody who has watched a rally knows that the great President Trump is there to fight for everyone.

Hey, I am just looking for the Yuge meltdown of all the poor little snowflakes when they find out that all their predictions were nothing but wishful thinking.

Democrats are paddling a leaky boat as they travel down the river of denial.

The GOPee needs to man up and get to work.

Trump can only do so much for the ~190 House non-Freedom Caucus, closet Never-Trumpers.

If they lose control maybe they will get off their deada$$es and get to work on 2020.

Trump was elected President by Democrats in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

His agenda is opposed by many elected House Republicans, maybe a majority of them, and he personally has little or nothing to do with the GOP as it currently exists.

I am predicting Dems + 40 in the House, and it could go higher.

Nah. Is is just another attack on President Trump. If he was mentioning the House, they would say that he is conceding the Senate. Whatever President does is wrong. Whatever President does not do is wrong. To some. Always remember, the Republican Party much, much, much preferred Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump. Only the people wanted President Trump. He fights for us and we fight for him.

There has been few senators and even less house members vocally supporting President Trump. Now the little people are complaining lack of the president’s support.

Things will be easier with 40 + long-time GOPers retiring, replaced by more Trumper conservatives. Many were not with the program. New ones will be...even if we lose a couple of open seats.

It's a net gain.

Trump emphasizes Senate races, because it includes the ENTIRE STATE.

House districts are tiny parts of that state, and the people voting for a GOP senator will be voting most likely for a GOP house rep. Why would he do big rallies for a single house district? He has Pence and Co. to to those markets if necessary.

Who was the dope that wrote this?

EXCELLENT POINT: thinking all those people at overflow Trump rallies are voting in Republican Senators......and Democrats for Congressman.

Teeming crowds of Trump supporters in Senate-candidate states are all-in Republican.

Typical Trump overflow rally.
