Mexico’s offer to let them stay is probably in response to the brain drain they’ve faced for decades, as the most motivated pick up & leave (along with many who come for less noble purposes). Mexico itself must be running out of landscapers and busboys.

Those remittances are just massive wealth transfers from American taxpayers to our adopted millions south of the border; the global immigration crisis is simply non-white people who wanted self-determination years ago trying to return to a colonial system (albeit one where they vote).
