It is a blue wave but it is receding at a high rate of speed. So it appears red shifted. That’s why it looks like a red wave - Doppler shifting!

The poll finds that registered voters prefer Democratic candidates for the House over Republican candidates by 50 percent to 43 percent. That marks a slight decline from last month, when Democrats led on the generic congressional ballot by 11 points, and a bigger drop from August, when they enjoyed a 14-point advantage.

Thing is, the congressional districts that favor Democrats tend to greatly favor democrats, due to aggressive gerrymandering by Democrat legislatures. A strongly liberal district that turns out an extra 10,000 Democrats to vote their Trump-hate still elects exactly one Congressman, just as it did when Obama was President.

I don’t mind so much if the blue wave happens, as long as they are waving goodbye...

Do NOT get complacent and celebrate too early, then be surprised on election day, when Dems win.

Be sure to VOTE!!!

If CNN says no blue wave is coming I believe them. Strange to say that but the old ‘’broken clock’’ thing you know?

I’ve heard some of the talking heads reassuring the dems that the huge crowds Trump is getting everywhere he goes, don’t mean anything. “They’ll turn out to see Trump, but he’s not on the ballot, so they won’t actually vote.” They said pretty much the same thing in 2016. “Oh, his crowds are large, but it doesn’t mean anything, Hillary will win in a landslide.”

Professional pundits trade their reputation and they must protect their credibility. Everything that they have done to date is just the pre season, their record doesn’t count. But on Tuesday they are firing for record and their comments will read into the record as well. All of them got caught with their pants down around their ankles in 2016 for the Presidential contest and they can’t afford another debacle.

In 2016, most of them did pretty well on the House contests, remember the Democrats gained six seats in the House. If they were to screw up the House races this year, it would hurt them in their pocketbooks through their speaking fees. No one wants to pay a fat check to a guest speaker who can’t get it right on the day of the big game.

I see backpedaling everywhere I look. RCP is capturing the waffling and now the stories all have two endings. One is the conventional wisdom narrative of the Blue Wave, and a new ending with the Republicans by with some magical bean or nefarious sleight of hand, they manage to win across the board.

Those with the real numbers, probably those with access to the closely held private polls and other metrics, are indicating good news for the Republicans. Friends don’t let friends make fools of themselves, so the word is getting passed around. We probably won’t know about the details, but remember in 2016, they were all confident that Hillary would prevail. No such talk going on right now, especially with respect to the House races.

The internal dem polling must be scaring the crap out of them..

Otherwise, we would hear endless stories of the wonderful initiatives the dems are going to force down our throats when they win the house...

I’m predicting overwhelming malaise and ennui for Dems come Wednesday, November 7th, 2018.

They just need to put on a sweater and turn down the thermostat! *SMIRK*

This mid-term election is going to be so delicious. So, very, VERY delicious! :)
