Not announced? At the end of the ad, it states in print that is from “Donald J. Trump for President”. How much more announcement is needed? Formal filing?

Clearly these networks (CNN and Fox News have pulled the ad too) are rolling the dice over the fact that any complaint filed by Trump’s campaign will take weeks at a minimum to process.

Their urgent goal is to get the truth off the airwaves NOW!
If they have to pay some fine at a future date as a consequence, oh well.

Well, I guess I am all wet. It turns out (per Wikipedia) he filed for re-election a LONG time ago. I don't know how NBC is getting away with this.

Trump began his campaign unusually early for an incumbent President of the United States. He began spending for his reelection effort within weeks of his election, and officially filed his campaign with the Federal Elections Commission on the day of his inauguration.

Thanks for the correction. I have no idea then, how NBC is getting away with this.
