I still don't believe the dems will take the house, I did not believe there was a blue wave.
As you stated, it was because of the passage of Obozo-care they lost the house. The very next election, they lost more seats in the house, the dems lost the senate. The next election, the dems lost the White House, majority of governorships and state houses.
The country has moved further to the right..not left. Also taking in consideration tax cuts, lower unemployment across demographics, factories in traditional blue/purple blue collar states such as Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and the like have re-emerged under Trump's watch will boost republican votes.
Tough on immigration, lower gov.regulation, shrinking government through attrition, kicking ISIS @$$, massaging trade deals to make them pro-American, scrapping the anti-American Paris Climate Accord, scrapping the insane Iranian nuke deal...ALL are positives for our side.
What is it the dems are running on?
Look at the recent Obozo rally....hundreds in attendance. Trump rallies across the country...thousands upon thousands.
We will see tonight, but I just have this gut feeling...the republicans will do better than is being reported.

Long line at the polls this morning at the northeast Houston suburbs. Much longer than 2016. I’m sure some of that is chalked up to less staffing for the midterm, but it’s still a huge turnout.

I'm willing to trade gridlock, which not always a bad thing, for 3 more Senate seats. Ginsberg is not long for this world, and Breyer is hinting at retirement, plus all the appellate judges in waiting. The Dims can flail about with their impeachment dreams, while Pres. Trump and the Senate put in place Constitutional judges that will change the direction of this nation for a long long time.
Plus, Trump won't be steam-rolled by a dim House. He has the veto pen. Also, the Senate and House bills have to be reconciled before new legislation even gets to his desk. Yes, a dim House can slow down his agenda/policies, but he has the once dim claim, "Turn of a pen. Cool". Think Executive Orders!
Personally, I've rarely had a problem with gridlock. The less they can do in DC, the less they can infringe on our rights, liberties, and culture. As for fegov shutdowns, I believe Pres. Trump will point out, "Other than fedgov employees (who get back pay) is this affecting you in any way? It shows what I've been saying all along that the fedgov Swamp is so bloated most Americans don't even notice the difference when the sign says, Temporarily Out-Of-Service".
