I do NOT keep friends who vote for the godless, socialist modern left. I simply can't like people who are for that.
I make it very clear to the lefties in my life that I don't want them around. At all really.
I have a co-worker who is a moderate lib and we remain friends, we simply don’t talk politics.
I have female friend I have known for years, she was wild leftist growing up in high school and college yet would always come to me and tell me her latest act of rebellion knowing I was going to chew her a new one. The first time she told me about telling her father to go to hell with a smug smile of satisfaction on her face. And I asked how did he react? He walked off and said nothing and I got my way. I replied, good thing you are not my daughter or I would have knocked you stem winding for speaking to me that way, you don’t do that to your parents ever. She was shocked and stunned at my response.
Her parents wouldn’t rebut her nonsense and tolerated her antics and mouth. I wouldn’t and yet she keeps coming back time and time again knowing I am going to logically tell her honey you are wrong. We remain friends, she asks for marital and parental advice at times, sometimes she listens sometimes she doesn’t. I love her but just won’t countenance her leftist BS and she clearly knows it. Its weird.
The other leftist I work with know I am a conservative and generally leave me alone unless they want to go a round. I don’t fire the first shot but will return a full broadside if they start up. Otherwise I am live and let live guy.
