[Yes, droning Ted should use his speech to personally thank those Texans who swallowed their anger and disgust with him for his performance at the convention and pulled the lever for him.]

Why would he? The real problem is the avalanche of hatred Trump brought upon him. That almost bit Trump on the ass with the loss of Cruz’s seat. Cruz wasn’t born with a silver spoon. He doesn’t need this crap. It looks like his presidential hopes are over. He should just resign and let whomever the GOP manages to recruit compete with Beto for the seat. Maybe he/she will do better. Cruz could certainly make big bucks as a corporate lawyer. And his wife would certainly have more career choices once he’s out of politics.

Cruz knew or should have known Trump was not a normal goper like Mitt Willard. Trump punches back hard. Hispanic GOP convention delegates were seen in enraged conversation with Cruz at the convention after his speech. Why doesn’t the man get it, Trump is his ticket to survival. I know he was and still is infuriated that Trump came out of the blue and preempted his chance to run for the White House. Cruz may be intellectually sharp but I am convinced the rats would have beaten him in 16. Cruz idea of a campaign speech is to drone on about tax policy. A worthy subject but a total turn off the the great majority of voters. We have the White House and Ted has his seat due to DJT. Why don’t a lot of conservative purists grasp this and be grateful?
