I grew up there. In those days it was one of the most conservative places on earth. I can’t imagine what’s happened to the poor people of that state that would allow libs to have any significant degree of success there. Have liberal teachers really changed the complexion of that state? I know they, or some of them, were trying when I was a kid back in the 50s and 60s, but it wasn’t really taking hold as far as I could tell. Pathetic.
The 3rd congressional district includes Wyandotte and Douglas counties. One is radical urban, the other radical university. Add Johnson county becoming more liberal (Hillary won by 3%) and the district is now democrat socialist. In KANSAS!
Pathetic indeed.
Johnson County snowflakes. Lots of money, short on brains.
The GOPe saw Yoder and Koback as too Trumpian in nature (especially Kobach), so they did what all good GOPers do in such a case, they supported the "not Trump" person regardless of their stance. In TV and print ads across the state the message was, "This Dem isn't that bad, it's OK to vote for them". The people of Kansas were lied to and betrayed by the GOPe. Ultimately though, that doesn't excuse the voters for being willfully uniformed; they will reap what they have sown. It does explain the situation a bit, though.
Brownback happened. You want to get the Johnson Countians riled up then mess with their school funding. Brownback did, and Kobach promised more of the same. That's why he lost.
The problem with “Conservative” states I’d they ate generally LOW POPULATION, like Montana and Colorado.
Once a migration of urban libtards moves into such states, it OVERWHELMS the native population.
Such has occurred in Montana, Colorado, Vermont, among others. Even states like New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Florida and Virginia have suffered by an inflow of leftists from neighboring sewer states.

The KC suburbs, Lawrence and Manhattan, Wichita and of course Topeka are the problem.
