Republican Jim Hagedorn has won southern Minnesota's 1st District race, flipping a Democratic seat that the GOP had targeted in hopes of hanging on to a House majority.
Hagedorn defeated Iraq War veteran Dan Feehan, a Democrat who was an acting assistant secretary of defense in the Obama administration. It was Hagedorn's fourth try for Congress.
Democratic U.S. Rep. Tim Walz vacated the seat to run for governor, setting up an intense contest that drew nearly $15 million in outside spending.
Hagedorn came close to beating Walz in 2016, when President Donald Trump carried the district. He really never stopped running after that, and made his support for the president a centerpiece of his campaign.
Hagedorn is the son of former U.S. Rep. Tom Hagedorn, who once represented part of the same area.

So disappointed here - I really can’t understand the voters here in Minnesota.
Such a lovely state, but such ignorant people, who can’t see that they are going to ruin everything, and go the way of Detroit, Chicago, and other cities/states destroyed by Democrat policies.
It is just a matter of time. Industries will leave, as will taxpayers who can afford to move.
I really need to know who benefited from outside money? The Public needs to know how much Soros and Steyer injected into different races......follow the money.

Minnesota is almost as stupid as Washington State. We’re about the worst. Even MD and MA elected R governors. All Maria Cantwell ever got done in office was Bob Torricelli. She won over Susan Hutchinson, who is both hot and conservative. (Both rare in WA state).
Minnesota and my home state of California are both too far gone to be saved. Yesterday my state elected a Governor who will allow people to take sh*ts on streets and shoot up crack wherever they want..also giving free health care to illegals(Yeah we have to pay for it), and a ridiculous train that is a total waste of money..he won in a landslide was NEVER close..Ronald Reagan is weeping at what happened to the state he loved so much
I was born and raised in CA, left 18 years ago. My parents, grandparent and 13 generations back on my paternal grandfather’s side were all Californians. They would be devastated if they saw the state today. It’s really sad.
Downtown Minneapolis is now almost as left as San Francisco.
And the Hippsters now run the city.
The first person I ever heard call Trump “Hitler” was from a Texas guy who moved to MN.
