Atty. Gen. Jeff Sessions has resigned, ending a tortured relationship with President Trump and opening what could be historic fight over the sprawling criminal investigation that has clouded his White House tenure.

Oh theres a sprawling criminal investigation alright.
Maybe not what LA Times had in mind.

This resignation has been planned for months and Trump already has picked his successor.
Mueller is about to show his cards and Sessions must go now.
Trump should wait until the Senate ends its term and recess appoint someone that DC will REALLY, REALLY HATE.
And then make his new permanent appointment when the new Senate convenes.
They can make their choice on which to keep
