“She pretended to be a Trump supporter in order to defraud.”

Therein lies the problem, proving she didn’t support Trump at some point. It’s difficult to prove what someone’s thoughts are about anything - if they changed their thoughts and like workings of the mind.

On this, she’ll have plenty of trouble, but I expect that’s about all. The people that turned over their money could sue in civil court, but it would cost them more to get their money back than it’s worth.

I expect the suckers best route is to go through GoFundMe or whatever online begging platform the person used and be a bit wiser in the future about such things.
