U got that right, going back a couple of years....
THAT + illegals is the suicide pact come real.
They succeeded in making us own the splitting families of illegal immigrants. We failed to make them own the fact that they split more families under President Obama than President Trump did, or that hundreds of thousands of families have been split as a result of the high incarceration rates in Democrat run cities.
They succeeded in framing policies against illegal immigrants as anti immigrant. We failed to focus the issue on illegal immigrants.
They succeeded in blaming us for gun violence. We failed to make them own the high numbers of murders that occur in the cities the Democrats run. In fact, we barely tried.
I know the MSM was in the pocket for the Democrats, but complaining about how unfair that is won't change it. We're going to have to find ways to overcome MSM saturation, or they'll win even more victories.
The Progressives are being hung on their own petard - the regulatory state which is laregly of their creation. Rule by experts via regulation is at the top of Progressives ambitions, because to them the democratic process in a legislature cannot be relied on “to do what is right”.
That is why when a Conservative is in the White House they attack the Conservative’s handling of the regulatory state so much. It is like the Conservative is attacking their child, and they have been masters at gaining the public’s ignorant treatment of the regulatory state as “independent” and not subject to questioning by the executive or the legislature.
