“I think we should post this about 20 more times today!”

While we’re at it we can also start twenty topics on how President Trump is still our President!

That never gets old!

pneumonia would certainly drive a couple threads.

I hope she gets better like John McCain. Opps, that might not be a good comparison.

I stand corrected. But it is the Rule of 80 (age + time of service=80)

Yes. Rule of 80 with 65 plus 15 or 70 plus 10. Kav had a long way to go.

Unfortunately no way to remove an ill Scotus even with dementia. Only way is impeachment. I dont think Ruth will ever retire even if she stops working unless a democratic president in office.

One thing I’d like to note, is that with her out of action, the court is down to 8 members for any new cases argued while she’s (further) incapacitated. On the bright side, the sane members of the court would outnumber the insane members.

I wish her a full recovery.

This sort of thing usually doesn’t happen once. It’s time to retire, Ruthie. Take an office upstairs.

“Prayers up for Ruth!”

Imprecatory prayers.

At best I’ll pray for her speedy retirement.

Ginsburg’s being gone from the Supreme Court, especially if it occurs during the presidency of Donald Trump, will be a blessing on our nation.

She is done for. My uncle broke his ribs in a fall in his early 90’s and his health decline over the next few years. It was what did him in.

trump gets another pick. I bet the democrats will accuse that person of rape even if a women....

I hope she is not in too much pain, but she should retire. Lost my mom in her 80s to a fall from broken hip. Small and frail like Ruth. Same with MIL fell on mahogany furniture broke hip and died.
About 3 years ago I slipped on a hidden patch of ice (I thought I was being careful, but failed to see the ice in time). And I fell (well, I must have fallen because I "came to," lying on the ground). Apparently I wasn’t strong enough to break my fall, and landed face-first on my hand which was on the sidewalk. In retrospect I should have gone to the Emergency Room, because my bell had been rung, and I knew it. Took a week to recover.

That was at the end of the winter, and the following Christmas my gift was a pair of “alpine” style walking sticks. They are helpful walking, and if I see any potential for tripping I make doubly sure to have at least one of the sticks poised in front of me so that I am confident that if I do trip, I won’t fall.

No meat on their bones. Very tough to recover.
Hillary first ran into health trouble (as far as we know) getting her bell rung from a fall. And it was treated as a joke when her minions gave her a football helmet as a gift, but before the kids got me those walking sticks I was seriously considering that very thing for myself. As a way of putting some “meat” on the “head bone.” You have to wonder if some creative type couldn’t style some light plastic padding/armor for the head, knees, hips, and other vulnerabilities of people who aren’t as “meaty" as they once were (and fat doesn’t count).

But I gotta say, the walking sticks are a lot less of a fashion (mis)statement than a football helmet would be.
