Eric Schneiderman, the embattled former New York Attorney General who stepped down from his post after multiple women came forward with allegations of assault, will not face criminal charges for the incidents reported, the prosecutor tasked with overseeing the case told CNN.
Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas told CNN Thursday morning that her team interviewed members of Schneidermans security detail, employees who worked with him at the New York Attorney Generals office and witnesses. Singas was appointed to be the special prosecutor overseeing the investigation.
I personally interviewed each of the women who cooperated with our investigation along with their attorneys, Singas told CNN in a statement. I believe the women who shared their experiences with our investigation team, however legal impediments, including statutes of limitations, preclude criminal prosecution.
Schneiderman resigned six months ago after two women spoke to The New Yorker on the record saying that Schneiderman hit and chocked them, and that they later sought medical attention because of what happened.
The women, Tanya Selvaratnam and Michelle Manning Barish, each alleged that they had been romantically involved with Schneiderman but that the violence they had experienced was non-consensual.
Selvaratnam told The New Yorker that Schneiderman threatened to tap her phone, among other threats.
Singas added that the investigation found no misconduct by Schneidermans staff in the Office of the Attorney General.
CNN reached out to the two named accusers for their thoughts on the announcement. Selvaratnam had no comment. An attorney for Barish has not responded.
#metoo outrage to follow?
Did his “little brown slave” have a comment?
Never talked about that during the Kavanaugh spectacle.
And they were all lying besides.
Wanna bet that this woman prosecutor is a dummocrap? It would figure that they would protect their own.
She is a Democrat.
Laws are for the little people.
The check cleared..
....this has the Hilda stink all over it
Note also, this announcement was given 2 days after NY elections.
Am sure Andrew Cuomo’s office had nothing to do with making sure even the tiniest blurb didn’t come out before Nov. 6
Enemedia backlast in 3 2 1 Crickets.
Apple’s and oranges
Just like Keith Ellison. If a Democrat gets accused of sexual abuse or battery, just ignore it and the Lame Street Media will make sure it goes away.
He walks free...to the next dark street.
Yep a Democrat. She took Rice’s place as Nassau County DA when Rice took Carolyn McCarthy’s seat in Congress. McCarthy played the loss of her husband and wounding of her son by Colin Ferguson on LIRR 5:33 into her political career.
Of course not.
I know somebody who works for her. That’s why I know she’s a Dem.
She seems, to an outsider, to be a better DA than Rice. Of course I miss Dennis Dillon.
Then-State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman gave the Clinton Foundation a pass on identifying foreign donors in its charitable filings making it impossible to know if it got any special favors while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state, according to a Scripps News report.
Scripps News found that the foundation and its subsidiary, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, took in $225 million in government donations between 2010 and 2014. New Yorks charity law clearly states: Organizations that received a contribution or grant from a government agency during the reporting period shall include the name of each agency from which contributions were received and the amount of each contribution.
But both the foundation and the CHAI failed to do that, and Schneiderman, a member of Clintons leadership council in New York and a fierce critic of Donald Trump, did nothing about it.
Other charities complied, including the George W. Bush foundation, which reported receiving $5 million from Saudi Arabia and $500,000 from Kuwait.
On its website, the Clinton Foundation reveals its foreign donors, but using only broad ranges, such as $5 million to $10 million, without any time frames. The IRS doesnt require such disclosures.
Hillary and smirking suck-up, Eric Schneiderman (right).
Schneiderman was recently ousted from office after women
came forward saying he spat at, slapped, and choked women he was intimate with.
The NYAG threatened to tap the phone of one woman.
