Wasp killer is great. Range of 30 ft+, perp can’t see or breathe. Plenty of time to “tenderize” them until help arrives.
At a distance, wasp killer combined with a cigarette lighter is even better.
Wasp killer is a terrible self defense tool. Its effect takes minutes to kick in and you’re likely to be beaten to death by then.
Use a standard OC spray and leave the wasp killer to wasps. Search for videos on wasp spray being used on people to prove how poorly it works.

A lighter is a good accessory to wasp spray. Makes a nice little flame thrower. Just can’t keep it lit very long, else the flame could travel back to the can and go kaboom in your hand.
Throw in a Bic lighter for special effects.
