SEATTLE - - Seattle is planning to review the iconic totem poles located in the city in consideration of cultural concerns.
The council would then engage with community members on the art's historical and cultural relevance to decide the next steps.

psssssst Seattle
Check out Elizabeth Warren. She has culturally appropriated American Indian.
Does it look anything like one of our senators?
Mmhmm - ergo tearing down confederate statues is an assault on cultural sensitivity and needs to be rectified.
OFFS! Srsly? Make sure no nazi symbols or anything? No images of I-phones snuck in? Fidiots.
Without totem poles they become Des Moines with three times the rainfall.
Similar to idiots wanting to tear down/destroy Civil War statues/memorials.
When do we start working on WWI stuff?
Is the democrat socioeconomic plantation culturally sensitive?
Throw the snowflakes out with the totem poles...what are these filthy techies doing on sacred tribal lands anyhoo?
Festivus
Perhaps they should ask the local tribes, not appoint party white commissions.
Tall totem poles should ALL be removed, because they are a product of White Englishmen.
It was Captain Cook’s 3rd voyage that gave the NW indians the tools to make these tall racist poles of hatred.
Cook traded metal tools with the Indians. Then he told them to make racist, homophobic, intolerant statues as a symbol of peace with England.../s
Actually, it is true that Cook provided the tools that took the Totem Poles from short to tall.
Oh ... when ... the douchebags go marching in!
Yes when the douchebags go marching in,
Oh you can bet Seattle will be represented in their number,
When the douchebags go marching in!
That has already started.
Check out the Peace Cross in Bladensburg, Maryland.
Atheists are trying to tear it down. A federal court
has already ruled in their favor. It's a WWI memorial to
local men who died fighting in WWI.
“When do we start working on WWI stuff?”
And WWII.
White American soldiers in WWII - and black ones too, I suppose - fought to defend segregation.
That’s what “they” say.
Be sure to include Austin in one of the choruses to your song.
"Like many of his contemporaries, he [Chief Seattle] owned slaves captured during his raids"
Sure.
The song wasn’t exclusive of other cities and the thread was about Seattle.
That said, the lunacy in Seattle is the sort the nitwits in Austin can only dream of.
Chief Seattle was a slave owner. It is way past time to rename this city. It may take the city a few decades to establish a new, recognizable brand worldwide. So what. I don't care about anything but getting rid of that horrible legacy of the horrible people that live there.
Here’s the irony - the Blackfeet were slavers as were the Canadian tribes Klickitat and Haida who made many of those totem poles in commemoration of the yearly raids during the salmon returns on the various Pacific Northwest tribes like the Lummi, Makah, Nisqualli, Snowqualmi, Suquamish, Chinacum, and others now absorbed.
Lets make sure all is culturally sensitive now - slavery by whites is evil, slavery by ‘Native Tribes’ is just fine.
