"The View" co-host Sunny Hostin said it was the young White House aide and not CNN reporter Jim Acosta who committed battery when attempting to remove a microphone from Acostas hand at a press conference on Wednesday.
Acosta got into a heated exchange with President Trump, who told Acosta to sit down and refused to take further questions from the reporter.
A White House aide, later identified as an intern, then tried to remove the microphone from Acosta, who resisted and asked a follow-up question.
As the intern tried to grab the mic, Acosta said, "pardon me, ma'am" and continued to try to ask his question. Acosta's hand made contact with the intern's arm during the exchange.
What I saw was a battery, not by Jim Acosta, but by the young White House aide, Hostin said on the ABC show on Thursday.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders in explaining the White House decision to remove the press credentials from Acosta said he put his hands on the young woman, calling it absolutely unacceptable.
Acosta has denied the claims, calling them a lie.
"I didnt put my hands on her or touch her as theyre alleging. Its unfortunate the White House is saying this," Acosta said on CNN Wednesday. "I think I handled myself professionally."
ETC...
Do not ever return any kind of WH pass to the SOB.....
Sure blame the intern. And it was all Monica’s fault, too a real Lolita.
Libs do nothing but lie, lie, lie..........
Battery:
the crime or tort of unconsented physical contact with another person, even where the contact is not violent but merely menacing or offensive.
I have no idea what the laws are in DC about what is assault and or battery but he was rude, pushy, and kept her from doing her job by hogging the mike. There was definitely what my mother would have called a tousle over the mike and since he was supposed to give it to another person he is at fault for the tousle. When I watch the video I see him push her arm so he can keep the mike, I know some say that is not what they see.
At the very least he was completely out of line, rude, and unprofessional and has been for some time. He needed to lose his right to be there, in my opinion he should have been bounced out a long time ago.
That last bit “menacing or offensive” is the key. Intent is the core to the issue. The intern had every right to take the microphone and Acosta interfered with that. He is responsible for the physical contact, not the intern. Thus, no battery.
And I apologize for using the words Behar and pretty in the same sentence.
Another genius.
Oh, I see how it is. The 23-year old female intern is the one at fault when she works for Trump.
Remember when Rick Lazio walked over to the Hildabeast’s podium with a pledge for her to sign during a debate when they were running for the Senate in New York? We never heard the end of the libs screeching about how he was physically threatening and intimidating poor little her. Didn’t she also try to maneuver Trump into doing something similar during one of their debates so the screeching could begin anew? But this Acosta can nudge or block a White House worker doing her job, and nary a word, except to blame the woman for provoking him.
The media double standard rolls on.
This is insane. Truly insane.
Is ABC ever going to get tired of these idiots making asses of themselves?
An upside view.
Déjà vu of Senate confirmation hearing for Justice Kavanaugh.
#IBelieveHer
:)
Even if, Acosta should know the rules
He’s just too immature and rude to follow them
It doesnt matter. Lil Jimmy aint comin back.
I thought women are supposed to support women? This Republican-women-are-not-women nonsense is most annoying.
