That would mean profiling of those who meet the characteristics of past mass shooters. It will mean people like this guy, who have had contacts with the police and mental health evaluations, but were never adjudicated mentally ill which would have flagged NICS, could possibly still find themselves on "no buy" lists.
And if you think Americans won't support this, think again.
