“Lock up the loonies”
The obvious ones, yes, but it’s expensive and easy to “lock up” people that are in fact harmless to society.
How about armed citizens who could kill a shooter on the spot. Simpler and cheaper.
the pills don’t cure them. they make them pass for normal until they don’t
unfit to own a gun, probably not a good idea to let them run around loose on society either
and locked up doesn’t have to mean an institution.
Put them at home with a legal guardian.
If they cannot be held accountable for their actions by reason of insanity, then they cannot be out and about unsupervised.
