I don’t agree, but for the moment, let’s say you’re correct. Then why all the name-calling and record changing once he ran for president? Why not just say I was born to an American mother in Kenya and therefore I’m qualified to run for president?

If Obama had argued his case for being a "natural born citizen" (Article 2 of the Constitution) like I just described it would have undermined how the libs have been interpreting Amendment 14's "all persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof" to make their case for anchor babies for the past 50 years.

The idea being that the citizenship requirement for a President must be a higher standard that the requirement for just being a citizen. So if the location of Obama's birth didn't matter to keep him from being a presidential level citizen, then the locations of the births of babies born to non-citizens don't matter either. It would mean, therefore, there are no anchor babies because babies born to non-citizens are non-citizens even if they were born in the middle of Nebraska.
