‘What About Guns Right Now?’ CNN's Blitzer Pushes Gun Control After CA Bar Shooting

Showing that he’s anything but a fair news anchor, CNN’s The Situation Room host Wolf Blitzer was yet another journalist who tried to make the Thousand Oaks, California bar shooting about gun control despite the state having perhaps the country’s strictest gun laws and state mental health experts had cleared the disturbed individual (thus still allowing him to purchase firearms).

Blitzer led into gun control by asking Democratic Congresswoman Jackie Speier (CA) about “what else could police” have done if they had visited him previously and “they had some professionals check him out and they concluded he was no threat to himself or to anyone else.”

It was following this question that Blitzer burst out like he had been given marching orders by the Brady Campaign or Everytown, blurting out his personal frustration and pleading with Speier:

What about guns right now? Do Democrats — you’re a Democrat. You’re going to have a majority in the House of Representatives. Do you guys, the Democrats, not just you but your colleagues, have the stomach right now to take up the whole issue of guns, given not just what's happened not just in the last few weeks but over the years?

Speier cited the successful efforts to strengthen laws in Florida following the Parkland shooting and then went to vague generalities that Congress must “clos[e] loopholes that we must do in terms of background checks” and consider ways to restrict those with a mental health history from owning guns.

On this, the 80th anniversary of Kristallnacht, the Jewish Wolf Blitzer may wish to review how the Nazis systematically disarmed the Jews in the 1930s in order the make the entire possible.

Gee Wolf, wouldn't it be a better question to ask why the criminal and tragic misuse of firearms was far less of a problem when high schools in New York even had rifle and shooting clubs for students?

I posted last night that the 10 states with the LAXEST gun laws have never had a mass shooting.

You would think that at least some politician could figure that out.

To be frank, laws don’t stop any crime at all. People either respect one another and try to do no harm to others or they don’t.

Force almost always settles the matter.

You want to take my means of self-defense from the predators among us?

Good luck with that.

Jackie, of all people, is smart enough and experienced enough to know that all massacres are the direct result of “gun control.”

The people that carry out these events were all ok until they were given psychotropic drugs.

The goons are getting ready for a big push.

They will be safer if their cattle are disarmed.

If you think things are bad now, just wait a week or two.

These mass shootings will continue until the Nazis, I mean the Socialists, are able to drag the Conservatives and Republicans into the streets and shoot them in the head.

Los Angeles already passed a law against the extended “high capacity” magazine that this murderer used. That law was passed in the wake of a similar type of tragedy. A combat veteran enrolled in college (I know, he recently dropped out) would hardly be the type of person banned from possession of a handgun.

The Supreme Court already ruled on the issue at hand, in response to USA v Heller, that possession of a handgun is an individual right. There is nothing much more to be done from the point of view of the law.

They are going to push for a lot more mental health bans, e.g. if the police come to a house for a disturbance, then they’re going to want to take guns - regardless of the type of disturbance. We’re heading into 1984/catch-22 type territory. If you possess a gun you must be crazy, thus you lose the right to possess a gun.

Pelosi should take up gun control as an issue. Do it now, while they can’t get it passed, so we can use it as an issue against them in 2020.

They have figured it out.

That is why they are pushing for federal gun laws. They know that those states are wise to what they are doing.

So dropping out of college isn’t grounds for a denial to purchase in Cali? LOL! Lucky for me I live in Nevafornia. Or is it Calvada now. I think they’re still deciding what to call us. I believe there is one remaining state senate race being decided in the Vegas area. If the dems get it, they will have the majority in the state senate and state house with a new dem gov, lt gov and AG. Think there will be gun restrictions afoot in NV soon? Bet on it. So to speak.

I’m preparing to move to Calvada myself in the next few years. Maybe sooner.

May I interject how important it is in FL’s election fraud ongoing that the Dem who is said to be “leading” the great Agriculture Commissioner and real FARMER, Matt Caldwelll— the Nikki Fried (who is not a farmer, a gun owner but IS a tool of the “medical marijuana” jive a@@ money machine) is attempting to coat tail on the gubernatorial ballot fraud AND the Senatorial ballot—

She is a lib antiGun activist and public defender lawyer— her 2nd Priority (from her website, after Medical Marijuana— NOT a role for the Dept. of Agriculture except as allowed by FL Legislature)... her 2nd Priority?

AUDITING the Division of Concealed Carry Arms licensing— something that would allow her access to currently securely guarded information— providing a seizure list for legal firearms owned by CC holders. Period. From her website: “Concealed Weapon Permits

Over past few months, some disturbing problems have been brought to light regarding the issuance of Concealed Weapons Permits. This is one of the most critically important duties of the Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services. On my first day in office, this administration will initiate a wholesale audit of the CWP department to determine the full extent of the failures, and implement new procedures and safeguards to ensure this never happens again. The Commissioner has a public safety obligation to ensure that a thorough and complete background check is completed on every person who applies for a CWP.”

Completely un-needed— but strategic placement for her in a Marxist administration of a Dept. that has critical industrial importance to FL— AGRICULTURE.

SHE MUST BE STOPPED. No theft of this through Broward and Palm Beach fraudulent vote counting and fake ballots!!

rktman— please pass this on to RKBA ping lists— this IS this woman’s assigned socialist/commie agenda. FIDEL got Batista’s list of gun owners— and Che’ killed every one of them (an extreme example— but perfectly acceptable to the Red Marxists who want the 2nd Amendment destroyed). Thank You!

“Hospital with a lock on the door?”

Why? For how long? What would be the justification: “Not dangerous to self or others today, but he might someday harm unidentified others...because he was a Marine ...white male...or owns a firearm?”

An armed public (even in bars) is a more reasonable and much more effective solution.

Better keep an eye on the local politics then. Still wrapping my warped brain around scumbag sisolack winning the gov seat. Reno and Vegas are to blame and we live in Reno. Of course someone mentioned that’s where the population centers are so sisolack got the job because that’s what the people wanted. Well, not ALL the people. But it’s done with no recount or anything so........... Still no state income tax though. LOL!

Except for Red Flag snitch laws, confiscation won’t happen without registration. That pesky Constitution which liberals hate requires passing legislation to mandate registration. Which requires a majority. States with registration laws are confronted with massive noncompliance but have yet to send their police to start knocking on doors.

FeinSwine & Co will huff & puff and wave AR-15’s at the cameras, but think for a moment: in four decades (Harvey Milk murder as start point) has she brought about the confiscation of a single firearm?

The real cause of mass murders outside of Jihad seems to be overprescription of mood altering drugs.

Still, whenever antigun hysteria stokes up, I hear a voice coming from my gun safe: “there’s always room for one more!”

;^)
