So, just like macabre clockwork. With Thursdays mass shooting at the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, California, there were routine calls for more gun control from the liberal media machine. During their evening broadcasts, CBS and NBC tried to scare the wits out of their viewers by dubiously claiming that there had been 307 mass shooting this year alone, or almost one a day. But that was a lie.
In a deeply condescending report to end the CBS Evening News, national correspondent Jim Axelrod suggested this latest shooting reminds us the range of I can't believe it happened here targets is ever-widening, beyond just campuses and workplaces.
If we define four or more victims as a mass shooting, then the Boardline attack is the 307th mass shooting this year. Let that number sink in-- 307. There have been 11 mass shootings just between Pittsburgh and last night, he asserted.
In a very I told you so tone, Axelrod concluded his report chiding: Be frustrated, angry, or despairing that it does. Just don't any longer be surprised.
Meanwhile, on NBC Nightly News, anchor Lester Holt huffed about how, less than two weeks ago, we were reporting from the scene of another mass shooting in Pittsburgh. In fact, folks, there has been a mass shooting almost every day this year. Stephanie Gosk has more on this seemingly endless cycle.
After he handed off to Gosk, she too reported that mass shooting-a-day claim. There have been 307 mass shootings with four or more people shot. 328 people killed, and the year is not over, she warned viewers.

I saw that Lester Holt bit last night. I thought it could not be true. You are right; facts don’t matter to them. They’ll pull anything off any blog or wherever, and claim it is settled data.
Maybe wolfie needs a new copy of this since the one he has is getting pretty worn:

As I’ve said before: Do the gun control jerks think the government will be as successful at keeping illegal guns from flooding the borders into the hands of criminals as they are at keeping illegal drugs out and for that matter at keeping illegal aliens out?
Well, lets see...California...
Handgun and rifle registration-Check.
A-s-s-ault rifle ban-Check.
Background checks-Check.
No private person to person sales-Check.
Waiting Periods-Check.
FBI checks-check.
Only California approved hand guns allowed-Check.
Tax on ammo-Check.
Gun free zone-Check.
Ban on large magazines-Check.
So what is next.
They consider it their job to make blathering false statements - it’s all part of their Party Line...even they know it has zero relevant effect but it’s what they do...and the only thing they do “well”.
See-BS, Nothing But Crap=enemies of the Republic.
Don’t forget, you have to show your ID just to buy ammunition.
When you do buy that ammunition, they have a pretty good idea what you own.
What’s next? In California, probably a huge leap in Red Flag denunciations & confiscations. From “he’s unstable, he threatened me, he has guns,” grounds for confiscation will evolve to “he voted for Trump so he’s both crazy and evil, and he has guns”.
Right now my gun safe is whispering to me, “room for one more, honey!”
