Why Suburban Women Cost the Republicans the House
American Thinker.com ^ | November 10, 2018 | Steve Marks

Did suburban women cost the Republicans the House of Representatives?

Most suburban women can be easily persuaded to vote for Democrats because they do not think seriously. Serious thinking in the political sense is concerned with where we are going as a nation, our moral values, our long-term prosperity, our security, our freedom and its inherent responsibilities. G.K. Chesterton said, “Thinking means connecting things, and stops if they cannot be connected” (Orthodoxy, 1908).

Don’t get me wrong – there are many intelligent, serious conservative women in Fairfax County (not to mention the nation as a whole), but they are sadly in the minority. From my limited and unscientific perspective, the reason most suburban women voted for Democrats can be divided into three categories:

  1. They don’t have to think seriously.
  2. They have never been taught to think seriously.
  3. They really don’t want to think seriously.

They Don’t Have to Think Seriously

We agree 100% on the only issue that really counts. Life
She actually knows she’s conservative in many ways
Its the mommy party vs the daddy party
In the end it’s TRUTH and COMPASSION that matter

“The Republicans need to get their message across better”

I keep hearing that, but how do you get your message across when the media either won’t cover it or will mischaracterize it?

I believe the article is referring to suburban women WHO ARE REPUBLICAN and were persuaded to vote the demon-rat ticket? Where on earth does this thinking come from and why would anyone here agree with such foolishness? Ask any woman on this forum - as you can be sure we aren’t demon-rats - if we voted for anyone other than a Republican!

Why not an article that blames REPUBLICAN men for losing the House because they chose to vote for the demon-rats? I guess they would also be considered air headed dimwits? Why the slam at women - no matter what political party they support?

In my head I imagine these “suburban women” as the beautiful girls who tried to go college, found it hard and didn’t want to work for a living so they married the next attractive guy with a good income and started having kids.

They then divorced but still lived off their ex’s income but loved playing around.

Thus, they don’t “need a man “

But they need a nanny to raise their kids and a gardener to keep her suburban lawn nice and tidy.

But she doesn’t need a man.

So she hires an illegal to mind her kids and an illegal to mow her lawn.

But she doesn’t need a man.

She votes democrat cause she’s afraid of guns, doesn’t worry about taxes or even having a job(her ex does all this for her)

But she doesn’t need a man.
She’s the arch-typical Hillary voter!

To Hell with the 19th, repeal the 17th Amendment that completely alters the way the Senate and House were intended to balance one another and took a huge amount of power away from the States.

Look at the number of States where Republicans control the State government but one or both Senators are Democrat. That couldn't happen without the 17th Amendment.

I held an opinion for months that the biggest threat to the Republicans in the Midterm election would come from affluent Suburban Republican women who didn’t like Trump and would vote for a Democrat who was well to the left, but who appeared to be sophisticated, intellectually superior, and uber politically correct.

I caught lots of flak from many Freepers, both men and women, who said that women who fit my description did not exist except for Democrat women. Well, they are Democrats now and they probably won’t return to the Republican Party. They will be embraced and flattered by their new Democrat sisters and they will turn many suburban districts blue. We will need to replace them, with blue collar men and women, Blacks, Hispanics, and other traditional Democrats.

After reaching this post, this country is worse off than I thought possible. What twisted thinking! I believe the article spoke about “suburban women” choosing to vote demon-rat and everyone posting assumes those “suburban women” are all automatically demon-rats... Where on earth does that come from? No, all suburban women don’t go along with the demon-rat party!! Why would anyone assume such a thing?

I guess the slur is on “suburban women” and since when are we any different from any other woman living in any other environment - city/farm/country/small town etc.? Why do people insist in placing others into some kind of unacceptable category? One of the problems existing in the country now - people won’t leave other people alone!

The article is tripe and disappointing to see that so many here think it’s a valid observation and take their shots at “suburban women.”

ALL they care about is KILLING BABIES!!!

It does seem to be their chief motivation, especially single women who always give it up to self-serving males without the benefit of an actual commitment. Abortion is their means of burying the evidence.
