CNN was saying maybe Trump and Putin arrived separate because they had a meeting. Russia, Russia, Russia.
Can’t take the music.

Yo Yo Ma is a great cellist, but the music sounded like he was just warming up.

Watching...
Personal note. Today would have been my parents 90th birthday...yes, I said birthday. They were born same day, same town, and grew up one block from each other. Mom was 3 hrs older than dad.

IMO it's awful. Reminds me of some avant-garde off-Broadway production. The music is just horrible. Screeching cats.
And like clockwork here comes Machron whining about nationalism being a betrayal of patriotism.

Did I just hear Macron "slide" into his speech the phrase ............
"Nationalism is the enemy of patriotism?"
If so it seems that was a huge dig at President Trump, and it will most likely be what all the MSM will talk about later today.
Just a thought.

PS .... yes, bgill, that violin - cello morose dirge was pretty hard to listen to.

Up early and was surprised - Fox had not promoted this event. Much ado on MSN about Potus not attending the graveyard ceremony.
With so many Heads of State this must be a security nightmare.
Will soon call my son to thank him for his service.

Some know the meaning of Nationalist v. nationalism. Some purposefully misinterpret.
AF-1 can’t leave quick enough.

______________
"Screeching cats" --- I'd say, "tortured, in-agony cats".
I guess the music was trying to convey the utter horribly dreary ugliness of that war.
If so, they did.

Yes, I heard that too. But I think you quoted it correctly. (See # 9).
I wonder what DJT thought of that sentence!

EmmanuelMacron in Paris at l'Arc de Triomphe:
"Nationalism is a betrayal of patriotism.
By saying 'Our interests first. Who cares about the others?' we erase what a nation holds dearest, what gives it life, what makes it great, and what is essential: Its moral values."

As he digs at DJT.

Micron is a reliable little back-stabber, as befits the leader of America's oldest Janus-faced friend/enemy.
My dad had an uncle - was named after him, actually - who had been exposed to mustard gas near the end of WWI, leaving him with lung problems for the rest of his life. Nationalism didn't ruin his life, INTERnationalism did.

Macron says Who cares about the others to take a dig at the American. President, President of the country that pulled your country out of the fire twice! Outrageous.
