Even when it does harm, many Brits tend to have a high-handed, superior manner in dealing with Americans. The exceptions tend to be Thatcherite type conservatives, who tend to admire the US and like Americans.

Hmmmm ...

OK, without looking:

Utah and Omaha were American

Juno and Sword were British

Gold was Canadian.

Now, I’ll go check.

No! Juno was Canadian; Gold and Sword were British.

>Five star admiral Ernest King must have been well aware of this, he was renowned for his opposition to the Brits high-handedness, so much so some historians call him an anglo-phobe. Eisenhower, trying to get the chief of staffs to “work with the Brits,” said “somebody ought to shoot King.”

Ernie King had such a prickly personality that he was said to always be in a rage. Moreover, he would have put a greater effort into fighting Japan. That cannot have pleased Eisenhower, who was chronically hard pressed to get the needed naval resources, especially landing craft.

Different guy. The guy I knew was also involved with Scouts. I forget his name but would have recognized it.

I doubt there were that many UDT guys on Normandy that night. Hero’s all

"I realize it's nothing like real life, but I enjoy watching "Seal Team" on CBS."

I've read the show, "Seal Team" has credible advisors for that show. It's one of our favorites.
