For more than a century, UC Berkeley's elite law school has been closely tied to the name of the building that houses it, Boalt Hall.

What about the families of rapists and murderers?
Should we tear down their houses because their Relatives, not even ancestors, did the deed.

Being that rapists and murderers are predominantly black, their legacy, i.e., family, needs to be wiped clean.

Makes about just as much sense.
Given that Berkeley is probably 30% Asian, I would say they've done pretty well by the man.
Another leader of the Chinese exclusionary movement was some guy named Leland Stanford.
If Berkeley is like every other elite law school, they discriminate against Asians to the fullest extent of the law, and a little more if they can get away with it.
Burn the entire campus to ground. Sow the scorched earth with salt. Drive every single student, professor, and employee into the wilderness naked.

Indeed. I should think all the Asians in attendance can laugh every day as they enter the building, knowing that Mr. Boalt is spinning in his grave.
Mrs. Boalt was actually a very nice lady. Apart from her wanting the school named after her deceased husband, it was really Mrs. Boalt who was the big supporter of the school. Supposedly she did a bunch of other things for the school and was always present for graduation and other functions. Her portrait used to be in and honored spot in one of the main hallways, I assume it is still there.
The reasonable compromise would have been to rename the school after her, which I think most alumni would agree with, but the identity grievance folks have to have their pound of flesh.
And anybody who ever went to that school should be shunned by society
Hence the driving them naked into the wilderness.

if a school removes a name then they should refund the donation.
They should also rename Berkeley, which is named for George Berkeley, a slave owner.
Not really. The California voters banned affirmative action in all state-funded institutions in 1996, so technically, they are not allowed to discriminate based on race. Interestingly, when the legislature tried to put a repeal of that ban on the ballot a few years ago, Asians stopped it.
Some people have too much free time to make mountains out of molehills.
Boalt Law School is super fine. It takes a perfect LSAT score to get in. Chemerinsky is the fool running the place and he is a political operative from hell.
Boalt just completed a multi-million dollar renovation and the building looks great.
The coffee shop across the street has excellent coffee.
